can i put a (reg-ecc) memory in a computer that has (non-ecc) memory in it currently?

i have a presario s4020wm and it comes with a 128mb ddr266, pc2100, 184pin, DIMMs, 2.5v, CL=2.5, (non-ecc) can i put a (Reg-ecc) in it or does it have to be (non-ecc)?

You can use it, but the ECC capability will be disabled.
