Is it possible to turn a PC on from the Power Supply Unit?
Because I can't find any motherboards with a certain power button connection for the case, but can I power it up from the power supply unit?
Pinky: This is the only bit of trouble I've run into, because I'm using an HP case, instead of buying a new case with a standard (or at least common) power connection. And I've upgraded and built my own computers in the past, but thanks anyways.
Older computers like AT's where started by the powersupply. They had a cable from the powersupply to the case-button. Modern ATX mainboards have the powerswitchconnector on the mainboard and to my knowledge those connectors are all the same. Maybe u have a non-ATX case? Anyway i believe that if ur mainboard is modern with a powerswitch-connector on the mainboard u gotta use that connector because turning on the powersupply won't automatically start the system.
