Lanier LD-445C – Color MFC with Detachable Scanner

With a detachable scanner option, the Lanier LD-445C is a high speed copy machine that can be maneuvered to fit into confined spaces in ways other machines cannot, thanks to easier access to the device's control panel and document glass. Convenient, practical features such as easy grip tray handles that allow you to load paper while a job is in progress make the LD-445C one of the most user friendly color copy machines from its time period, and a long list of powerful specifications make it impressive even by today's standards.

Though the Lanier LD-445C is five years old now, it was designed to last. With color copy, scan, and print technology made available for an entire office with affordable ink and paper costs, the unit will not be obsolete any time soon. Its print speed of up to 45 pages per minute in black and white ensures that standard documents will be produced at a fever pitch, while color prints don't fall far behind at a maximum print and copy speed of 40 pages per minute. A built in duplexor is also entirely standard with the device, and is perfect for making double sided color pamphlets and booklets and greatly reducing overall paper usage.

The unit's warm up time falls just under a minute, while its first copy out times run at 6.5 seconds for full color and only 3.9 seconds for black and white. Unfortunately, copy, print, and scan resolution is universally mediocre with the Lanier LD-445C, and runs at only 600 x 600 dots per inch for all three. For a color laser printer, this severely limits the device's usefulness for printing photographs, but charts and other professional imagery should print just fine.

A built in reversing automatic document feeder compliments the Lanier LD-445C's duplexor quite well by allowing double sided input to be scanned and copied on both sides, automatically. An RADF can be absolutely imperative when large, double sided document sets are a major part of the workload. The RADF not only has a 100 sheet capacity, but it is compatible with oversized ledger size paper as well. When not in use, the unit's simple document glass can work just as well for single page source material, and even three dimensional objects such as open books.

A built in document server is made possible by an internal 80 GB hard disk that is also shared with the printer's other functions. Up to 2,000 documents can be stored at once with up to 9,000 pages for a single document, though no more than 9,000 total pages can be stored at once. A wide range of finishing choices for the Lanier LD-445C make it very versatile on the whole, and include a 3,000 sheet finisher, a 2,000 sheet booklet finisher, and a smaller, 1,000 sheet finisher. Variations of the Lanier LD-445C model are also available with slower overall print speeds, but may be the right option for the business looking to save a few dollars up front.

The problem you are probably having is there isn't enough power coming from the amp inside the radio. 17 watts rms isn't that much the speakers probably need at least 40 watts rms. So what could be happening is the speakers are trying to draw more power from the headunit and overheating it and shutting down the amp portion of the headunit. You need an amp for the speakers 1 that will put out about 50 watts rms per channel.
