What network protocall will do point to point?
I want to network only two computers via point to point ethernet. I want to hook this up tonight and not go out to buy a router. Is there a network protocall which will allow point to point. TCP might do it. But I dont think so. NetBui (spelling?) maybe. Maybe another.
Does anyone know? Settings would be appreciated.

You simply need a protocol (TCP/IP, NetBEUI, SPX, etc) and a cross over cable. Your physical layer is the cross over cable, which connects you send data to the other computers' receive data lines and vice versa. You'll also need to have two network cards to do it.
To wire a cross over network cable, wire one end of the cable as TIA-568A and the other as TIA-568B. If you don't know what this means, see the link.
