t1 network setup?
we are a brand new business with 10 employees. We just ordered 1.5MB T1 from Covad that comes with a Netopia 4622XL T1 Router. Do i need a switch/hub, firewall, VPN, etc. in addition? What do i need to setup a standard windows network for my 10-person business with the T1 and Netopia router?
You will definately want a firewall behind the router. You will need a switch connected to the firewall, and all of your internal computer will connect to that switch and use the firewall's IP address as their default gateway. You won't need VPN connectivity unless you have remote users, or a point to point remote office, or if traveling employees need to connect.
The bottom line is this, if you are asking this question you will need to seek the help of an experienced consultant. They will be able to set up everything for you.
