Linksys PLTK300 PowerLine Network Kit - Establish Network connections easily
Linksys is a major provider of home and small office network products. Linksys also manufactures broadband and wireless routers, consumer and small business grade Ethernet switching, VOIP equipment, wireless internet video camera, AV products, network storage systems and other products.
The Linksys PowerLine Network Kit has a single-port PowerLine Adapter, and a four-port PowerLine Adapter, which let users to easily create a network using the existing electrical outlets in their home. So it’s not necessary to drill holes in walls and climb through the attic or cellar to install network cables. Adding devices to the network is as easy as plugging a PowerLine Adapter into an electrical outlet, and connecting our Ethernet-equipped devices to the built-in Ethernet ports.
Additional devices can be connected to the same network using additional PowerLine Adapters plugged into any electrical outlet anywhere in the house. Using a separate outlet for each device, users can achieve file transfer rates of about 12-15Mbps. They can share resources like printers and storage space, and all kinds of files -- music, digital pictures, and documents. With up to 85Mbps data rates, users can play uninterrupted head-to-head network computer games, and run applications like Voice over IP telephony. If users plug their Internet connected router into a Powerline Adapter, they will be able to get to the Internet from any Powerline attached computer in the house.

new router, old computers connect to network but not internet?
I've bought a new Belkin N router to replace a Linksys B router. My desktop / laptop (both quite new), xbox360, iPhone all connect. However, my sisters laptop (running vista), my mums laptop (running xp) and the family desktop (xp) will connect to the network but won't connect to the internet. I've also tried running an ethernet to these devices from a belkin powerline adapter and they still won't connect properly. The wireless networks on these devices will find the new router, but just say validating id and never do anything more.
The router is set to transmit B,G and N... please help this is driving me mad!!!
The most likely cause is that the older hardware cannot handle the wireless security you have set up with the new router.
Try disabling the security settings temporarily and see if the older units can connect using wireless. If they suddenly work, you know the security is the issue.
You then have the choice of using a less secure algorithm that the older hardware supports, or upgrading the wireless adapters on the older machines
