KVM Extender: Extend a KVM console and allow local and remote access to machines
A computer can be remotely managed with the help of a KVM Extender. These extenders allow the KVM console to be placed at a distance from the computer. They are used to access computers placed in one secure, environmentally controlled and centralized location. Composed of two micro sized units, a transmitter which connects to the computer and a receiver connected to the KVM hardware, this product is software and network independent. Using these devices, peripherals can be placed up to 330 feet away from the source. In order to increase the distance typically allowed by standard cables, Cat5 cables are used. These cables eliminate the need for bulky VGA or PS2 cables thereby decreasing the clutter.

Supporting high resolution video up to 1920 x 1440 @ 60 Hz, these devices provide unmatched video clarity without ghosting of images. They are available in various model options such as PS2 Extenders, USB Extenders and extenders with RS232 / Serial port for touch screen configurations, VGA Video or DVI Video connections, and Audio port extension. The CAT5 KVM Extender is also RoHS, CE and FCC certified. System selection and management can be done via push buttons or hot key combinations.

External power is required for both units in order to function correctly. The one exception is the USB extender where power is only needed on the receiver end and the transmitter draws power directly from the computer.
