Netbooks with Intel Atom dual-core system for sale

Online retailers have started selling netbooks with Intel is a new dual-core Atom processor, ahead of official product announcements from PC manufacturers.

Intel announced dual-core Atom N550 netbook chip on Monday. Chip maker said netbooks with the new system will be available immediately, but the largest manufacturers of PC products not yet announced.

What is the difference between Intel Pentium SU4100 and Core 2 dou? 10pts?

Whats the difference between an intel pentium su4100 and a core 2 dou? I understand the the core 2 dou is faster, but is the laptop faster when browising? I just want to use the laptop for browsing/youtube/msn/microsoft word. Will it matter what kind of processer I get and will I have to wait an extra few seconds when opening a page?

If all you are doing is browsing and some word processing any modern processor will be sufficient. Memory is where you should probably focus. Windows doesn't have the best memory management so you can never really have too much (weigh it with cost of course).

The SU4100 uses less power so that's why they use it in netbooks (which are really just for browsing and light computer use). The Core 2 will be more powerful but will use more power.
