VGA, HDMI, 32"LCD TV?
i have an HP desktop computer (new as of September of 2008) with a 20 inch monitor. im trying to run a vga splitter out of the tower with one side going to my monitor and the other to my 32" lcd tv.
to my tv i have (in order from pc to tv) a vga splitter, 5ft VGA to HDMI adapter cable, HDMI female to HDMI female connecter, and finally a 20ft hdmi cable to the tv.
whats wrong with it?
depending on which i plug into the splitter first, the display settings change on the monitor, but it never displays on the tv.
the tv has a box that says "no signal"
is the cable too long for the signal to be strong enough?
do i need to mess with the display settings until it works?
should i just send back all the HDMI junk and just go with a 25ft VGA?
VGA to HDMI cable is a scam.
VGA is analog and HDMI is digital, so it is not going to work EVER.
Throw away all the HDMI crap and get a VGA cable.
Alternative, get VGA to ethernet converters and use a long ethernet cable + the two converters This is what is used in all signage.
