1-The limited number of channels you receive and the number of channels you recive is dependent on your location and the distance you`re located in relation to each television`s stations transmiters location.
2-Just like Satellite TV if there is a storm anywhere between your location and the location of the signals transmitter your viewing will be interrupted, which in cases of severe storms makes no sense to me because you won`t be able to receive any warnings after a storm hits your area, if a tornado popped up how would you know to take shelter?

These converter boxes will cost you anywhere from $40-$90 and will extend the life of your older analog television for years. They convert high definition feeds to a digital quality analog format which allows for viewing on just about any older analog television.
New HDTV `s and PC`s Using High Defenition Antennae
New high definition tv`s have the converter built right in saving you the expense of having to purchase the converter separately, the picture is top notch but the drawback here is that they are expensive, and there are limits to the number of channels you can receive because of distances(as mentioned above).
Another way of receiving high definition antennae television is to install a good HDTV converter card in your computer (prices start around $40). Using these cards you`ll be able to receive the same channels you would using a regular HD television. All you need to do is run a lead wire from your antennae and hook it to the newly installed card and run the software they supply.
If you have 1080p or 1080i running on your television or computer screen you`ll be able to see the excellent quality of using an antennae these days. Most channels are 480i or 720p but you do get quite a few networks now broadcasting 1080p.
Picture quality for televisions and computer work the same way, the higher resolution your tv or computer can acheive the better it is for your viewing.

Anyone who owns a computer and has a internet connection can get this service with only one payment of $30-$50. These programs usually have one or two downloadable programs to install and they offer a multitude of channels for you to choose from, the number of channels advertized are always in the thousands.

Personally I like the way these new avenues of receiving my favorite television shows and sports combine, this is how I set myself up for tv viewing and I really like not having to pay anymore just for watching television. I paid enough for my computer and my television so now I let them work for me(so to speak).

I don't think that it is possible to answer this question.
The Hertzian dipole is a theoretical entity which can be regarded as the element from which larger aerials can be constructed and their properties calculated. It is defined conceptually as a short isolated conductor carrying a uniform alternating current. Its radiation resistance can be derived as
Ra =790(h/L)^2
where h is the length of the element and L is the wavelength of the radiation.
Ra is the real part of the drive-point impedance, so this is a start in answering your question. In order to get the complex impedance you must add to this the reactance of a length h due to its inductance. This leads you to the idea of the inductance per unit lenght of an infinite conductor. But this cannot be evaluated in a general sense, since inductance is a concept which relates to an entire circuit, not to an elemental increment of a circuit; to determine inductance you must consider the return path for the current.
So this means that the inductance or reactance of a Hertzian dipole is an inapropriate idea ! The concepts are incompatible on a theoretical basis.
