Dell XPS M1210 Review

The Dell XPS M1210 combines power and portability in a package that can be categorized as ultraportable. Although it packs a lot of power laptop, this laptop is not for hard-core gamers but those who need better laptop performance will not mind paying extra for this unique road-worthy hybrid.

Features

The Dell XPS M1210 sports a 12.1-inch wide-screen display and weighs 2.2kg weight. It weighs 2.35kg with the AC adapter which makes it a little closer to most laptops in thin-and-light category. The 12.1-inch display of the M1210 is okay for surfing the Web and watching your favorite movies. It also has a 1.3-megapixel Webcam in top of the display which can rotate 180 degrees. The camera is perfect for taking images from both the front and rear of the laptop. People who are into media will surely love the Dell MediaDirect which allows you to access your media files without booting into Windows.

The M1210 measures 29.7 cm. by 22 cm. wide by 3 cm high and has a full-size keyboard that makes typing very comfortable. The touch pad and mouse buttons are a bit small but functional because it has both horizontal and vertical scroll zones. The illuminated buttons that sits along the front edge including the volume and media transport controls is a nice idea. Some people may find it not a great idea to place those buttons there because you can easily or accidentally hit those buttons when typing especially if you are using your laptop while it is placed on your lap. On the other hand the buttons are pretty handy when watching DVDs or listening to your favorite music and may come in handy while on a flight or when sitting in other cramped quarters.

The M1210 also has decent set of ports and connections for such a small system.
•    Four (4) USB 2.0 ports
•    Four-pin FireWire
•    VGA
•    S-Video-out ports
•    Two headphone jacks and a mic jack
•    ExpressCard slot
•    Media card reader

Networking options for the Dell XPS M1210 includes:
•    Modem
•    Ethernet
•    802.11a/b/g Wi-Fi
•    Bluetooth
•    WWAN.

This laptop also has a lot of Processor Options:
•    Intel Core Duo Processor T2600 (2.16GHz/667MHz FSB/2MB Cache)
•    Intel Core Duo Processor T2500 (2GHz/667MHz FSB/2MB Cache)
•    Intel Core Duo Processor T2400 (1.83GHz/667MHz FSB/2MB Cache)
•    Intel Core Duo Processor T2300E (1.66GHz/667MHz FSB/2MB Cache)

Just like with other Dell system, the XPS M1210 can be configured to suit your budget and needs. From processors, memory options, hard drive, video graphics, optical drive, Dell XPS M1210 battery, wifi to wide area network and more.

Can i use a maxtor hard drive with my dell desktop computer?

I have a brand new maxtor hard drive and i have a dell desktop computer that needs a hard drive. I need to put it in the computer but i need to know if i can because im not sure if i can. I was looking at it and i don't see where it connects at. I need to know if it connects to the dell computer or even if anybody knows how to connect it or where i can learn how to connect it at please let me know.

Yes you can. All hard drives, regardless of brands, come with standard interface and power connectors. But if your computer's power supply uses SATA interface and your Maxtor hard drive is an IDE, then you need to buy a SATA/IDE cable converter.
