Could be overheating or your power supply isn't up to snuff and isn't running your card at 100% efficiency. Make sure you have enough watts and +12V amps for that card if you added the card to what was onboard graphics, Also try latest video drivers. If its overheating and its an Nvidia card download and install Ntune where you can turn the fan speed up provided it has a fan. Would have been easier to help had you said what card you have.
